Reader, This is the time of year we set aside to celebrate and appreciate our classroom heroes - teachers. This year more so than ever, we must verbalize the importance of teachers. I remember when I began my career as a teacher...WOW have things changed. We will not take time to lament all of the things that are wrong with the teaching profession today ( and believe me, we could garner a long list of grievances); rather we will take time to say: THANK YOU! I am old school and love a handwritten note. I gave all the teachers on the staff a personal handwritten card along with a succulent ( cute but low maintenance LOL). The message in each card had a growth message and about how teachers plant seeds...they may not see the seed mature but know they provide the conditions for that plant to grow. I do that because giving is part of my love language and also I think it is important for teachers to know - I see you and appreciate you! So.... What are you doing this week to celebrate and appreciate your teachers? Your colleagues? Yourself? Yours in education, |
